Eric Dozier leverages the power of music to promote healing, justice, and racial reconciliation in communities globally. Eric directed music at the world-famous Harlem Gospel Choir, cowrote the Broadway-bound production of Henry Box Brown and is cultural advisor to the new Broadway show A Wonderful World I The Louis Armstrong Musical.

About the Workshop Weekend

African American Spirituals and Gospel music contain some of the most powerful American poetry, and speak of a love for all humanity. They reflect joys and sorrows, hopes and fears, personal struggles and dreams. They have carried hidden messages about resistance and escape and continue to this day to testify to the resilience of the human spirit. The 2025 Brilliance Gospel Workshop weekend is a unique, interactive workshop experience building community and gaining vocal techniques singing Gospel music.

Day 01

Friday April 4th, 7-9pm Gospel Community Building Warm-up with Eric!

Located at the Washington State Black Legacy Institute: 2656 42nd Ave SW, Seattle, WA 98116.
Registration Opens- 6:45pm
Evening Gospel Community Building Warm-up program with light dinner buffet- 7 to 9pm

Day 02

Saturday April 5th, 10am-4pm Deep Dive into the History and Skills of Gospel Singing

Located at Saint Therese Parish: Saint Therese Parish: 900 35th Ave, Seattle, WA 98122.
Registration Opens- 9:30am
Workshop Morning Session- 10am to12pm
Lunch Buffet- 12pm
Workshop Afternoon Session- 1pm to 4pm

Day 03

Sunday April 6th, Weekend Gospel Choir Rehearsal and Performance for Family and Friends

Located at Saint Therese Parish: 900 35th Ave, Seattle, WA 98122.
Rehearsal for Performance (just for Gospel Workshop Weekend Participants)- 3pm to 4:15pm
Brilliance Gospel Workshop Participant Performance for Family and Friends- 5pm

  • Existing Gospel Choir performers from the region.
  • Individual singers or choir members who want to gain a new experience singing Gospel music.
  • Singers of all levels and ages who seek a space to lift our voices together for healing, hope and community.
  • Friday April 4th 7-9pm Gospel Community Building Warm-up with Eric Dozier will occur at The Washington State Black Legacy Institute -2656 42nd Ave SW, Seattle, WA 98116.
  • Both the Saturday April 5th, 10am-4pm Gospel Workshop with Eric Dozier and the Sunday April 6th 5pm Gospel Choir Performance for family and friends will occur at Saint Therese Parish- 900 35th Ave, Seattle WA 98122.

(Optional) $25 donation/participant

Important- No one will be turned away for lack of funds! Please come!

To off-set some of the costs of paying for the Gospel Workshop Weekend venues, talent and meals we kindly ask workshop attendees to each donate $25 for the workshop registration.
